ISA Triathlon 2018

On Friday 5th October we were delighted to welcome 22 schools to Hutton Manor to take part in the annual I.S.A Triathlon. Woodlands School Hutton Manor has been hosting the event since 2013 and this year was another great success. The weather was kind and the tremendous support from staff, parent helpers and the Year 6 children meant the event ran smoothly and happily.

Every child received a well-deserved medal at the finish and it was lovely to see the delight and sense of achievement they experienced.

The Home Team did us proud and despite the chilly, early start, they tackled all three disciplines with determination. Special mention to Jude Robertson, our highest place finisher, coming home 9th out of a 100 boys - what a fantastic achievement!

Taking part for Woodlands School Hutton Manor were:

Boys' Team - Jude Robertson, Sam Bunyan, Max Kingsley, Jack Mison, Sam Kingsley and Harry Motley.

Girls' Team - Katie Standish, Emily Beale, Seje Abebe, Isabella Cross, Isabella Hearn and Dolly Sweeney-Pullum

Congratulations to Betsy North of Meoncross Independent School who achieved first place overall with the fastest time of 07:05.

Thanks once again to Mrs Fitch for organising the event and making sure everything ran smoothly.

Mrs Fitch commented, "The event can't be done without the support of all the parents, relatives and teaching staff who kindly help out with marshalling and running the event. Our year 6 were a huge help too. It's a big event for Woodlands, and it makes it all worthwhile seeing the children so pleased after competing the triathlon.

This year I was struck by how polite and well behaved the participating children were. Thanks to everyone who took part, it was a pleasure to host you all."
