Light Up Warley

We celebrated the start of the festive season with our children and their families in sparkling style on Friday 30th November, at our ‘Light Up Warley’ event.

The atmosphere was buzzing again this year, as almost all our families came together to celebrate switching on our Christmas lights and see in the festive season with us.

Three Brave Girls...

This year, everyone was stunned and inspired by three very brave girls from year 3 and 4, who underwent a charity hair chop live on stage at the event!

Ella, Neha and Francesca all had their long ponytails chopped, after smashing their fundraising target of £1000. The girls committed to the chop to raise money for the Little Princess Trust and the current total raised stands at over £2300. Well done to all three of you.

Seeing in the season

Also at the event, children and their families enjoyed fair ground rides, hot food, sweet snacks and browsing the selection of craft and gift stalls from local small businesses.  There were performances from several groups of children signing pop and chirstmas songs … and of course, a special visit from Santa Claus himself too!

Year 6 pupil Pippa won the competition to turn on the lights this year, thanks to her beautiful poster design. At 5 o clock sharp, Pippa pressed the button and the school was illuminated with twinkling fairy lights and beautiful, bright displays.

Everyone at the school is now ready for the last two weeks of term, which are set to be packed with seasonal activities, Christmas performances, and general festive cheer. Season's greetings everyone!
