School Closure - COVID-19

Following the Government’s announcement on 20th March 2020 that all schools must close during this period of dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, other than for key workers, we have had to temporarily close our doors until such time that the Government advice is that we can reopen.

We hope that this will be as soon as possible after our natural Easter break.

We are dealing with this challenge with remote learning for pupils and we are standing by our teachers throughout so that once it passes (as this first phase will hopefully do so in a relatively short period) we can look after their well-being and be ready to resume our educational and extracurricular program at that point with our loyal team.

Whilst nobody wants to have to suspend services, the health of our pupils, parents and team is vital and we will do what we need to do in order to expedite the end of this crisis period.

We are now offering Virtual Educational sessions with our staff. Using our in-house systems, teachers will simply dial through to pupils’ homes using appropriate software.  This state-of-the-art technology will allow us to continue to provide teaching sessions.   We want everyone to enjoy a break over Easter, as usual, but we will ensure that this educational package is full and continuous until that point and, if we are unable to reopen due to government guidelines, immediately after the normal Easter break.

However, the Government has also asked educational settings to stay open, if at all possible, to accommodate vulnerable children and the children of Key Workers.  Woodlands Schools is offering this service, both to the parents of children who usually attend Woodlands Schools and to any other children of Key Workers.  Anyone interested in using this facility should contact Lyn Warren on 01277 245375 or email lyn.warren@woodlands-littleacorns.co.uk

We WILL get through this as a nation, we WILL find ways to recover and our health, knowledge and wellbeing are going to be vital to us all to ensure that we do.
